RH HYPERMARKET made its presence felt in Lae yesterday as it opened its first service station in the Morobe capital witnessed by the local business community.
Also present were the six clan leaders from Butibum village and the executives of the Butibum Progress Association and Butibum Progress Ltd.
RH Trading executive director Nathaniel Ho said the opening of the service station was another important milestone and a first for the company in Morobe.
Ho said the opening of the Markham Road service station brought the number of service stations owned by the company to three.
He said the service station was carefully planned by the management and after a thorough discussions, construction started in late January this year and took about less than six months, with the company investing more than K2 million to complete the project.
“Our company is aiming to be the first cashless service station in the country,” he said.
“We have started our fuel cards system in Port Moresby which we have more than 180 corporate clients and soon we will be introducing the fuel cards system here in Lae as well.”
The executive director said the company was proud to partner with the Lae community, especially the people of Butibum in the realisation of the project.
“This is only the start and we’re planning to put out more investments in coming years as we are committed to serving the Lae and the country.”
