ROBUST harvest from the New Britain Palm Oil Ltd branches in Milne Bay, Ramu and New Britain had all contributed to the first quarter’s combined processed record 651, 946 tonnes of fresh fruit bunches.
Chief executive officer Nick Thompson said this was 65.6% ahead of last year’s produce of the same period, which included 210,002 tonnes from the Kula Palm Oil Ltd.
He said the cropping outlook for the next quarter appeared to be equally strong as production in New Britain, Higaturu, Milne Bay and the Solomon Islands would be at its peak over the next two months.
“The weather in Q1 has affected the operations, with a lower than average rainfall,”  Thompson said.
