Rigo village hosts volleyball fest

GOMORE village in Rigo, Central province, will come alive during the festive season as it  plans to hold a volleyball challenge.
Twelve teams from seven clans in Gomore village, Rigo 1, Rigo 2, Gamada, Gorobono, Vorivo, Doukabono and Vaimedani would battle against each other in the men’s and women’s divisions to determine the volleyball champions.
The tournament will be held at the Visiumaru sports grounds on Dec 18 and will showcase raw talents from Gomoredobu
Tournament organisers would like to keep the youths away from illegal activities so they could enjoy Christmas in its true spirit of celebration with the elderly people.
Like many other rural villages in province, the festive season a time for families to get together and celebrate.
However, to make the celebrations more exciting, organisers are planning some sporting activities, which will be more fitting for the young and old people.
It will be now an opportunity for the community to bring the youths together in these games to promote peace and unity within the community.
