Rigo youths tinting windows to make their future clearer
A GROUP of young men from Central have joined up to do a vehicle window tinting business and it’s proving to be a smart move.
They call themselves the “The Rigo Tint Bladers” and can be found along Kawai Road just outside Paradise Foods in Gordon. The Bladers, who all hail from Ginigolo village in the Rigo district, have been tinting windows for the last three years and it is all thanks to the skills and ideas they share among themselves.
Raga Dibura, one of the young men responsible for setting up the tinting service, spoke about how he and a few men from his village had picked up the skills of window tinting during their time working with a workshop in Port Moresby. They later shared the skills with other young men from the village.
Dibura spoke of the challenges that were faced with but it is keeping them occupied and bringing in some kina.
“This is the type of work that we have learnt from our odd jobs, most of them are unemployed or have left school a long time ago.”
