RLWC tickets selling fast

TICKETS sales for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup in Port Moresby have been impressive, says RLWC general manager commercial and marketing Rohan Sawyer.
Sawyer said he had received feedback from ticket-selling outlets in Port Moresby, with sales for the grand stand at the Oil Search National Football Stadium already sold out for the three fixtures against Wales, USA and Ireland.
“Some stands have sold out for each of the three games for example, the north stand game one is sold out,” Sawyer said referring to the PNG Kumuls match against Wales on Oct 28.
With a total of 45,000 tickets for all stands across the three pool matches at the NFS on sales last Thursday, Sawyer said close to 50 percent of tickets had been sold so far.
“This is very strong in a short period of time and compared to Australia and New Zealand, it’s very positive from our end.  We are pleased to see passionate people go out and purchase those tickets.”
“We are aware of the strong demand for tickets in PNG and we just want to remind our passionate fans over there to buy now so they don’t miss out on all the action.
“Please do not wait if you want to see the world’s best rugby league players come to PNG and take on the Kumuls with all their NRL stars. Tickets are selling fast and we don’t want people to be disappointed,” Sawyer said.
He also clarified that there were limitations in place in all markets in the three host countries where no one was allowed to buy more than 20 tickets.
