THE section of the Independence Drive between Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech) and Tent City in Lae, should be ready for use by the end of March says an official with the National Works Department.
Morobe Works manager Sampson Apia, when responding to public queries about completion of the road, said while the concrete sealing had been completed, there were still other support work that needed to be done.
“Workers are working on road furniture such as extension of bus stops and shelters, access roads, street lights, road signs, road markings and others,” he said.
“We do not want to open the road for public use early when there are still minor outstanding work.
