Road crash kills five

 FIVE people were confirmed death when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed along the highway from Lae between Erap and 40-Mile.

Huon Gulf MP Ross Seymour told that to The National while at the accident scene providing help to those involved in the accident.

The bodies were being transported to the Angau Memorial Hospital.

Seymour said he had provided a tipper truck from the district to transport the bodies to Lae.

Police Highway Patrol Unit officer Corporal Fred Siop was unable to provide more details. 

Siop could not say what had caused the accident. 

However, Seymour said the owner of the vehicle was Nick Ray from Southern Highlands, who lives around Seventh Street in Lae.

Seymour advised the public travelling along the highway to remain alert. 

Seymour was in time to help the victims.
