MORE than 1,000 people stand to benefit from improvements to a 20km stretch of road in the Nipa-Kutubu electorate.

News of road maintenance in their remote area has delighted people from Yalanda and Bagule.

Basic services such as road links are what people in these areas are seeking.

Kutubu LLG president John Pipi Kila said these types of services would change lives and promote developments but people should take ownership and look after them.

He said this while praising his Nipa-Kutubu local MP Jeffery Komal for the road maintenance.

He said people from Yalanda and Bagule in the Nipa-Kutubu electorate, Southern Highlands, had been without a road for years.

“For years you did not see services like better roads and Komal has been kind to you so my appeal to you is to look after it and take ownership,” Kila said.

“People, we have a responsibility to play and that is to make sure that we look after what is provided.”
