ROADSHOWS are the way forward to help promote products and designs by local small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), Kokopo Turlua Investment Ltd managing director Gordon Joseph says.“Roadshows are the best platforms for SMEs to reach out to consumers, buyers and manufacturers,” he said at a one-day local SME fashion roadshow on June 3 at the Rabaul Business Training College.He said the roadshow was used as a trial and error to attract the attention of designers or SMEs to showcase their products.“This is the first time that we (Kokopo Turlua Investment Ltd) are hosting a roadshow in Rabaul after a similar road show in Kokopo that attracted several business houses,” he said.“Our objective here is to show case as many local SME products as possible, for both local and foreign markets.“Our road show here in Rabaul has already indicated that we need to put up another roadshow here in three weeks’ time. “This venue is not too far from the main market and we propose to stage the next one at the Rabaul Page Park Market.The fashion show featured the Meri Mangas Boutique Group from Bitarebarebe (Bitavavar) ward in the Kokopo-Vunamami urban local level government in Kokopo showcasing on the cat walk new designs created by young designer Natera Fong.
