AUSTRALIA-based PNG netballers are expected to join the national team for the 2013 Pacific netball series in Samoa.
Pepes Tiata Baldwin, Maleta Roberts, Cheryl Renagi, Michelle Geitzel and Yvonne Magatu are based in Brisbane, Queensland.
They have all played in the Queensland State League.
The Pacific tournament will be used as a qualifier for the Commonwealth Games.
Renagi plays tier two for the Golden South Jaguars (Gold Coast), while Roberts plays tier one for the Jaguars.
Roberts has played most of her netball career in tier one, representing the Queensland Firebirds in the Trans-Tasman series.
Baldwin will be making a comeback after family commitments.
“Yes, I am making a comeback.
“Just needed a break in my netball career so last year, I sort of slackened off.
“I had to devote a lot of time to family,” she said.
Baldwin played tier one for the Brisbane North Cougars for five years.
She represented Queensland Under-17, U19, U21 and in the Australian national league.
Gietzel did not play this season because of injury.
She has played in the tier one competition for the past five years and has represented Queensland.
Magatu is another tier one player who has not competed for the past two years because for family commitments.
