NEW recruit Henry Ronny inspired PRK Rapatona to a convincing 3-1 victory over a hapless Erema outfit in National Soccer League’s Southern Conference at Bisini Soccer Complex on Saturday.

Recruited from Huawei PS United during the window transfer period, the 26-year-old forward added a tonic in attack in the absence of departing Michael Foster.

Foster has moved to Lae City Dwellers to boost their NSL campaign and prepare for the OFC Champions League in New Zealand later in the year.

Ronny is from Buang (Morobe) and Karkar Island (Madang) but was adopted by a family from Rambyutso island, Manus.

He said he was happy to lead the boys in the midfield and provided the much-need support for his striker Patrick Aisa and flanker Pettyshen Elijah.

The self-employed young man, who wants to call Rambyutso home, was a journey man in the NSL, playing for four different clubs before ending up with Rapatona.

He said he started playing in NSL with Petro Souths (2011/12), before signing with Welgris Highlander (2012/13), Lae FC (2013/14) and Oro FC (2014/15).

He signed up with Huawei PS this season before moving to Rapatona during the window transfer.

Rapatona coach Max Foster said that Ronny was the best buy for the club.

“We searched for Michael’s replacement and made no mistake in picking up Ronnie after our request for Ian Yanum fall through,” the former PNG goalkeeper said.

Foster said Ronny blended well in his new team and he was ready to give his side a new lease of life to ensure the Posman Kua Aisi Lawyers-sponsored team remained competitive in the coming weeks.

Erema Gulf had themselves to blame for the loss.
