LAE MP and Lands and Physical Planning Minister John Rosso has described the late Sir Jerry Nalau as a staunch Morobean leader who always spoke his mind without fear or favour.
“He was a staunch Morobean leader who didn’t mince his words and always spoke his mind with a little bit of flavoured language Rosso said. “He shared a friendship and companionship with our founding father, the late Grand Chief Sir Michael Thomas Somare, in the colonial era through to the pioneer years of independence. “He served our nation with diligence and loyalty, both in the public service and political arena.
“Despite his retirement, Sir Jerry always showed leadership as a statesman.
Rosso said Morobe had lost a no-nonsense firebrand leader and PNG had lost a pioneer statesman.
