Rosso focuses on law, order

LAE MP John Rosso, pictured, says law and orders remains his top priority to transform the city into a crime-free place.
“In two years we have opened two new police stations, bought 12 new cars for policing, installed Global Positioning System (GPS) in all government vehicles,” Rosso said.
“So now, we are working on addressing petty crime woes at Top Town and Eriku, and I can tell you, Eriku is now very safe.
“We are installing closed circuit televisions (CCTV) cameras to help monitor public security and to check petty crimes.
“The use of CCTV security cameras is the initiative of the Lae metropolitan commander and the private sector.
“So in my five-year term as MP, we want to turn Lae into a safe city for our people.
“This is fundamental to trigger other socio-economic changes and development.
“With all the initiatives and ideas in recent years, there is about an 80 per cent drop in crime rate.
“We have also helped police with fuel and water supplies.”
