Rotarians aid Jiwaka

 AUSTRALIAN Rotarians have been carrying out projects in Jiwaka – thanks to Jiwaka Welfare Association chairman, Frank Goi.

Through his initiative, Goi has brought in Rotarians from Newcastle, New South Wales, to Jiwaka and initiated clean water supplies, school and hospital furniture projects and student exchange programmes.

Six students a year have been  sent to Newcastle for three months to attend East Maitland Primary and see for themselves how a foreign education system functioned.

The programme has been running for three years and this year’s students will travel on July 15.
