THE Port Moresby Rotary Club has a new president in Veronica Marshall.

The club hosted a changeover dinner on Tuesday at the Ela Beach Hotel in Port Moresby for Marshall’s induction.

Former president Bruce Telfer said the club had implemented many projects with the help of Rotary International and other partners in the past 12 months.

They included donating desks to Hagara   Primary School in the Motu-Koitabu area, completing a disability self-help community centre in Pari and making other donations in kind.

Marshall, who had been acting for six months, said she was new to the rotary and had only been a member for two years.

She said it had been a great two years that had opened a new world for her.

She said she had a wonderful and enlightening experience visiting community projects and had even helped a young boy with his medical condition.

Marshall said she believed the club would do well for this year.

“This year we can do well and involve ‘engage rotary – change lives” by working together at a club level and involving our local community as well as utilising the keen and valuable resources available to us in the wider rotary network,” she said.

The Port Moresby Rotary Club is part of Rotary International.
