Education

MANDO Lutheran Primary School in Daulo, Eastern Highlands, has received 24 computer sets and accessories to access the internet, thanks to the Rotary Club of Australia.
Acting district administrator of Daulo District Development Authority Samo Toby, who stood in for the president of the Rotary Club of Goroka, made the donation to the school.
“You are one privileged school selected out from scores of others in the district to have this computers and accessories donated to you. Take ownership and look after the equipment with care.”
He said the donation is timely as the Schools Learning Improvement Program (SLIP) launched in the district recently will complement the reporting and other necessary information of the programme and the school as well.
Samo said he was working with the local MP Pogio Ghate with plans to improve functions of the education sector, health, roads and bridges, law and order and other services that the district will require.
He acknowledged Ghate for the allocation of K1 million from the 2018 District Services Improvement Programme (DSIP) to fund school fees for the Daulo district students that are attending higher education institutions around the country.
