Rowdiness uncalled for

THE State of Origin games in Australia between Queensland and New South Wales are televised around the world, including PNG.

Once the game is over, supporters overseas go home peacefully.

But in PNG, we hear of people fighting over the game, even killing and destroying property.

This happens mostly in settlement areas.

This country as a whole has an attitude problem – we cannot control our emotions when under the influence of alcohol.

In reality, the game is in Australia and has no material benefit for us here in PNG.

It shows that we are not capable of handling big games like that in PNG.

We behave like unthinking children and have a long way to go in improving our behaviour.
