Royal encouragement

THE Duke of York, Prince Andrew, says upcoming entrepreneurs have to persevere with ideas and passion to impact the country’s development agenda.
He said impact should not only be in health but to expand ideas to include many other sectors that were available, including modern communication and technology.
He was speaking to participants of Kumul GameChangers during a dinner hosted by PNG Business Council last weekend.
Prince Andrew took time to talk individually to more than 20 potential entrepreneurs identified under the Kumul Foundation’s GameChangers, a development initiative that was recently implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with Kumul Foundation Inc.
“You are at a rather unique time and space right now with the opportunity to contribute innovatively and meaningfully to the development of Papua New Guinea and the timing cannot be more perfect,” he said.
Prince Andrew said innovative ideas from Kumul GameChangers would likely disrupt existing entrepreneurship systems around the world while being equally game changing to a developing nation like Papua New Guinea.
PNG Business Council president David Toua acknowledged Prince Andrew for accepting the invitation from the council and for his genuine interest and passion for next generation of PNG entrepreneurs, describing it as a very influential moment for many.
“This is the future of Papua New Guinea and as much as possible we want to encourage and help nurture this kind of trend and the passion that will help set the path for
tomorrow, and for that we cannot say thank you enough for your presence with us here tonight,” Toua said.
