Royals to visit in November

PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill confirmed yesterday that the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will visit Papua New Guinea as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee commemorations in June 2012.
PNG is one of 15 realm countries in the Commonwealth with British monarch as head of the state.
Last year, Buckingham Palace said that a royal family member would be visiting PNG.
Queen Elizabeth herself will not travel.
The three-day visit by Prince Charles and Camilla will begin on Nov 3.
O’Neill said the royal visit will cost K7 to K8 million and not K100 million as was reported.
