AROMA Coast rugby union sevens received yet another boost with a sponsorship of shirts from Remington Technologies  to dress up referees officiating at the tournament which kicks off today.
Sixteen teams are reported to have registered to compete in the tournament and Remington Technologies has  come in to support the growing local rugby union initiative  in Aroma.
Remington Technologies head of IT solutions, Landon Taureka when presenting the polo shirts,  said the company was proud to support the tournament, which would expose raw talents from the rural villages.
Six rugby balls were also presented as part of the sponsorship which would be used during the two-day event at Lalaura village in the Abau district, Central province.
Aroma coast rugby sevens tournament planning committee members, Kone Emilio and Kini Renagi, were on hand to receive the sponsorship from Remington Technologies representatives.
The committee members commended the company for the support which will now see the referees dressed in uniforms making the rural tournament more professional in its second year of contest.
Mr Renagi, however, said Aroma Coast had representive players in the current PNG Pukpuks sevens squad, such as Roland Namo and Kojo Ware, and that had seen the interest grown in the villages along Aroma Coast.
