THE home of rugby union sported a new sign last week with the unveiling of the Monier Rugby Park billboard.
Papua New Guinea Rugby Football Union general manager, Simon Kerr, pictured, said that part of its sponsorship agreement was the naming rights for the home of PNGRFU.
Monier Rugby Park, traditionally known as Bava Park, will be undergoing some upgrading in preparation to host a hot field of international teams who will be competing for the Oceania Cup in July.
“We’ve worked hard to host the Oceania Cup in 2013 in Port Moresby and with teams coming from all over the Oceania region, we want to make sure our ovals and facilities are in the best possible condition,” Kerr said.
“With the shortage of fields due to the 2015 Pacific Games infrastructure upgrades, we are upgrading Monier Park to host international tournaments.”
