Rural roadworks to come under districts, provinces

RURAL roadworks will now come under their districts and provinces, says Works Minister Michael Nali.
Nali was responding to questions raised by Angoram MP Salio Waipo who asked on the funds of the roadwork’s for his districts and if monies have been transferred for the funding of the roads in his district so that projects could start.
“Cabinet has made a decision regarding implementation of rural roads, we have passed a legislation Road Management and Road Fund Act,” Nali said.
“Under that Act that passed gives a clear-cut indication that rural roads come under the district and provincial administration and will remain under the provincial government, so every things goes back to provinces and districts.”
