STUDENTS in the remote St Arnold Kumdi Primary School in Mul district, Western Highlands, have been provided computers in classes.

Ten computers were installed at the school last Friday witnessed by superintendent for community and primary school William Moa, district officer Mark Sepi, teachers, students and parents.

The school will also offer computer classes for villagers during weekends at an affordable rate and money collected will go to other school projects.

Headmaster Joseph Owa said in a computerised world, it was important that students learn about computers at an early age even before they reach secondary school or tertiary institution.

“Kumdi is a remote school but has set a good example to other schools,” he said.

Owa said people from his area with money enrolled their

children in the city to receive a better education and have access to computers.

But now, a rural school is also offering computer classes to students.

“I want to change such mentality and help the school in whatever I can to give the young generation quality education,” he said.
