Sabbath a time to rest

Letters

SABBATH is a Hebrew word, meaning to rest or cease from doing something.
Salvation derives from the English word salvage, meaning to get back, or reclaim something.
God made man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, to tend and eat of what was in it.
In the garden, God had fellowship with man, and man lived a holy life before God.
But sin entered the Garden of Eden through the deceit of the devil.
Thus man sinned and the fellowship between God and man was severed.
Man was vanished from the garden and the presence of God.
God planned to redeem mankind to Himself.
God promised Abraham, a man who was upright in His eyes, that one of his descendant would be a blessing to all peoples of the earth (Gen 12: 3; Gal 3: 8).
That descendant of Abraham was Jesus Christ (Luke 3: 23-34), the Son of God and the Messiah of the world.
God promised Jesus as a way to help man rest or cease from sinning (Sabbath) and return to Himself (Mat 11: 28).
