Safety high on maritime authority plans

THE National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA) is committed to align its strategies effectively to enhance maritime safety.
This was evident when a two-day workshop was held recently for the authority’s senior management to set a benchmark for its upcoming review and formulation of its five-year corporate plan 2020-2024.
Chief executive Paul Unas told his senior management team that the workshop was significant as the inputs of respective departments under the three divisional heads — maritime operation, maritime
administration and corporate services — would form a part of the formulation of the new five-year plan, which would guide its annual work plans.
He urged them to embrace responsibility and identify priorities and areas which can best take the organisation ahead as the maritime authority in the country.
The current corporate plan 2015-2019 set the pace in the direction the organisation has taken and guides NMSA to realise its purpose.
