THE PNG Ports Saints have revenge on their minds when they take on Moresby West Jokers in their Round 5 match in tonight’s challenge in PNG Men’s Basketball League competition at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex.

The tussle should bring out the best in both sides as the fresh-faced Jokers who beat Saints in their earlier encounter, have confidence to the brim.

Issues with electronic scoreboard and 24-second shot clock need to be ironed out in order for play to be unaffected.

Jokers’ Elavo brothers Harold and Joe as well as Soi Moses Benny, Garry Holmes, Alu Pundu and Tom Mare might not find the going as easy as the first time they played Saints but have improved over the last three matches since that encounter.

Pinoy recruit Phil Guerian will give direction to their play ensuring the youngsters stay focused.

Saints coach Tasman Samuel will need to fire his charges up for a competitive match.

Paiwa Baldwin, Terry Melepia Junior, Tony Haro, Donald Kala and Rex Mohu have had time to build combinations and will be expected to show their experience and structure when they take on their young rivals.

Last week Tuesday Exodus clipped Jokers 81-78 with the Muri brothers Apia, Purari and Dia starring in the three-point win. Apia netted a game high 26 and younger sibling Purari hit 19 to maintain their unbeaten record.
