Salvos top carnival

THE Papua New Guinea Salvation Army netball team returned home after winning the week-long A grade Australian states carnival tournament in Melbourne last week.
Linda Ligo, who is the executive assistant to the PNG Salvation Army territory commander, led the netball contingent comprising an A and B grade side.
She said PNG was recently elevated to A grade under Western Army Territory where it went on to win the 2016 A grade shell. The PNG team was undefeated in all its matches and made it through to the grand final beating Tasmania for the title.
