Sape praises ‘bilum’ project

 THE PNG Women in business (PNGWiB) founder and director Janet Sape lauded Minister for Trade, Commerce & Industry Richard Maru’s plan to commercialise the bilum businesses.  

Sape made the comment yesterday following Maru’s recent announcement to transform the informal bilum business into a commercialised industry.

Maru had said the bilum project would be funded under the International Trade Centre (ITC) US$3 million (K6.7 million) women in trade programme with funding support of the Australian government.

“The bilum project could be initiated as early next month with a preliminary mission from ITC scheduled to visit the country,” he added.
