Sape: Very few women entrepreneurs in PNG

Business, Normal

PAPUA New Guinea does not have record women entrepreneurs and the exact contribution they make towards the country’s economy.
PNG women in business president Janet Sape, who said this last week, also stressed that although it would soon be rectified, such statistics were vital information that would  be used for the purpose of recognising women and their work.
Sape and women in Agriculture president Maria Linibi, who were in Japan recently for the Apec women’s entrepreneurship summit, found out that US$1.3 trillion of the overall US economy is a direct contribution from women entrepreneurs.
She said many high profile women at the summit had quoted such statistics of women’s contributions to their eco-nomies.
The summit was atended by entrepreneurs from 21 Apec countries, Sape said.
