NAMATANAI MP Walter Schnaubelt has commended his district administration for working with his office to deliver major projects last year.
He said his district had reached milestone achievements through the projects under the leadership of district administrator Neville Tomon and district finance manager David Weri.
“The partnership with my political office has seen tangible results and bringing in David Weri to be district finance manager has had a big impact on the changes,” Schnaubelt said.
“Cheques were raised on time and projects and services were implemented thus I want to commend
Weri on his efforts.”
Schnaubelt said Tomon was always in close contact with his office and kept up with the plans and proposals for implementing services in the district.
Tomon said the partnership with Schnaubelt’s office was of great significance as it had broken the barriers that existed under past leaderships.
“Previous leaders and their political office did not work with the district administration and there was political interference with the administration functions and resulting in people missing out on tangible services and the growth and development of the district,” Tomon said.
He said Schnaubelt had brought with him a new style of leadership that was more focused on the people under his “empowering people first” policy.
“Under this policy, 80 per cent of the people have found economic independence through the WFA Buying Point where local farmers earn income from selling their garden produce.
“The district administration is looking forward to working with the member to deliver more services to the people this year,” Tomon said.
