BUSU Secondary School in Lae, Morobe, is looking at completing its science laboratory within the first quarter of this year depending on the availability of funds, principal George Noble says.
The science lab which will have its structure completed by the end of next month, will need equipment and accessories to be added to make it functional.
Noble yesterday said the provincial government allocated K500,000 in 2018, towards the constriction of the lab while the school contributed K85,000 from last year’s project fees.
“For equipment and accessories, another K70,000 is needed to equip the lab and that has to come from project fees,” he said.
He said they needed to pay an additional K55,000 to the contractor to put final touches to the building.
Busu Secondary School is one of the top in the country, performing consistently (grade 10 and 12 exams) annually.
Noble said the school was looking to maintaining the high standard it had set and had put strategies in place to focus on academic performance.
He said that was why the school’s administration was looking at completing all incomplete infrastructure and develop new infrastructures.
