TWENTY-one students from a district in East Sepik have been accepted to study at various universities in the country this year.
Yangoru Secondary School chairman Jacob Yafai said this comprised of seven students from his school.
Yafai said 14 students were from the district school of excellence at the Yangoru Station.
He said this was a significant improvement compared to previous years.
“Apart from the 21 who were accepted by universities, we are still getting acceptance letters from colleges,” he said.
Yangoru Secondary was initially a day school before becoming a boarding school for students in Yangoru-Saussia.
The district recently introduced the school of excellence aimed at improving quality of education in rural schools in the country.
