A PARENT from Matalau in the Kombiu LLG area of East New Britain is fearing for the safety of teachers and students at Albert Burua Memorial Primary School.
She is calling on authorities to replace the teachers with locals.
The parent, who preferred not to be named, said numerous attacks on teachers and students had forced teachers to leave for their respective wards for safety and commute to school.
The mother suggested relevant authorities should relocate the teachers to other schools and replace them with those from the area.
She said the teachers had vacated their residences at the school and were now travelling to and from school.
