THE Hayfield Ganba Westbrook Technical High School, in Maprik, East Sepik, has presented K60,000 to Telikom PNG Ltd for the establishment of Clean IT programme.

The presentation was done in the National Capital District yesterday.

The school is the first in East Sepik to take on the programme.

Clean IT is an internet programme by Telikom PNG that establishes an online library to give students and teachers a stick access to educational websites such as Wikipedia, Britannica and World Map.

“Today we are witnessing an initiative taken by the school which believes that this programme is viable in adding value to their children’s learning,” Telikom Foundation chief executive officer Brian Sam said.

Sam said since the programme’s inception in 2012, Telikom had donated K50,000 annually to it.

He said Morata Primary School, in NCD, had commended  the programme after it came second in the Grade 8 results in 2013.

Board chairman Felix Kalimo said the school saw the need to invest in the students and help them to be computer literate.
