GIRLS from Bugandi Secondary School topped the list of entrants for the first-ever Lae Schools Gospel Talent quest.
Forty students had shown interest but only 20 were picked and 12 of them are girls who will showcase their vocal talents in the hope of winning a recording contract with Faith Records.
Coca-Cola marketing service manager Lawrence Lahari yesterday donated 10 red T-shirts and caps each.
He said the main package of prizes had yet to be announced but the company would provide shelter and soft drinks.
As the representative of the major sponsor, Lahari is one of the judges and will officially launch the show.
The judges panel includes SVS marketing staff member Elsie Douglas and Ben Novulu and Pessie Aaron, who have strong musical backgrounds nationally and abroad.
Show coordinator Mason Mai said they would be interested in the vocals of participants because the studio would arrange the music.
He said they were looking at including groups and live solo artists in the future.
The event is being sponsored by Coca-Cola Amatil and Super Value Stores.
