School graduates over 200 grade 8 students
MORE than 200 students graduated last Friday during the Markham Road Primary School’s 25th graduation at the 2-Mile Christian Revival Christian Centre in Lae.
Guest speaker Busu Secondary School principal George Noble said after eight years of primary education students would move to another level to the city’s secondary schools such as Bugandi Secondary, Lae Secondary or Busu Secondary.
“Education never stops and you have completed eight of years of education now and have another eight more years before you get a job,” he said.
“Education in Papua New Guinea is good. You must have a goal to achieve and use your time well.”
Noble said students needed to be guided by having the four pillars of growth, generosity, gratitude and God in their lives.
Head teacher Sam Nalong said the 2019 academic year had been a difficult one especially with the delay in receiving their Tuition Fee Free (TFF) funds from the provincial government while project fees were also not forthcoming.
Nalong said the school’s performance was above average with the grade eight examination results indicating a number of students scoring high marks in the subjects of English, maths and combined subjects.
