STUDENTS from the Eyrie School of Music and the World Changers Christian School donated money to the Cheshire Disability Services centre in Port Moresby and provided some music to entertain the people.
It was part of the World Changers Christian School mufti-day celebrations.
Principal of the World Changers Christian Academy and director of the Eyrie School of Music Nathan Walters organised the event to encourage students to give money to such organisations and use their talents, gifts and skills to bring joy to others.
“I want students from both the Eyrie School of Music and World Changers Christian School to understand the importance of giving not only financially but more so with their talents, gifts and skills,” Walters said.
“It was amazing seeing students donate their mufti-day collections to the Cheshire Disability Services in Hohola and also perform songs they were learning at the Eyrie School of Music.”
General manager of the Cheshire Disability Services Benard Ayieko thanked the students.
Meanwhile, the Eyrie School of Music is in the process of incorporating the POM youth band to provide an avenue for young people in Port Moresby to learn music and play instruments.
A fundraising dinner and concert will be held in Port Moresby in September to buy new music instruments to start the POM youth band initiative.
