THE Tindua Primary School in Pangia, Southern Highlands, celebrated Easter with the staging of drama depicting the crucifixion and resurrection.
The school is located in the Ialibu in the Pangia electorate. It re-kindled the spirit of Easter to the neighbouring Karis community, staff, families and students.
The programme began with a prayer by Pr Joran Wabe of the Lutheran church at Pembu, Karis.
Students in Grades 8 and 4 staged the drama and sang songs.
Deputy headmaster Garry Alphonse told The National from Tindua on Thursday that it was the biggest event organised by the school.
Alphonse said the celebration was colourful with teachers, families, community members and students taking part.
“We have been making sure the real meaning of Easter is explained in our drama and songs,” he said.
“Easter is when Christians think about the saviour Jesus Christ did to save the people from their sins.”
