THE Kaupena High School in Southern Highlands needs a new science laboratory for its 600 students.
Principal David Paki said the new science laboratory cost K120,000.
The school is located in the Imbonggu electorate.
He said from the project fees collected, they had raised K83,000 which was used to set up the building foundation.
The school was built in 2002, accommodating grade nines and 10s. Paki’s aim is to enrol grades 11 and 12 next year.
Paki said the science laboratory was a need for students to conduct their experiments.
Currently, they are not doing any practical experiments but only theory.
“The only place where students will have bright knowledge is the laboratory where they can see how things work.”
He said a science laboratory was very expensive and they were trying their very best to use the limited funding they had because this would lift the standard of learning.
Paki said the school would also need to install water pipes and gas pipes in that building.
He said the school was aiming to complete the building in July if assistance was available.
