A PRIMARY School in North Fly, Western, has a new laptop and printer, given by OK Tedi Mining Ltd.
Migalsim Primary School was awarded the items after being declared the winner of this year’s World Environment Day school competition recently.
Principal Bill Jacob said the prize was timely and an effective cost cutting measure for the school.
“This would reduce the printing costs of the school and we could save some money to spend in other areas that are lacking,” he said.
Migalsim is one out of four schools in Tabubil that took part in the World Environment Day school competition this year.
Each school produced videos on the World Environment Day celebrations, focusing on this year’s theme “Let’s beat air pollution”.
The videos were submitted to the Environment Department for judging.
Tabubil Primary School received the second prize (a screen and a projector) while Wangbin Primary School, on third place, won a camera and two whiteboards
