Schoolboys league squads named

 PORT Moresby and Central held successful schoolboys rugby league trials at Saroa Keina Oval to select their representative teams for the Southern Region championships.

The Southern Zone trials will be held in Port Moresby next Tuesday .

Port Moresby Schoolboys Rugby League chairman and senior Digicel Cup referee Ben Kaupa said he was impressed with the performance of the youngsters. 

Kaupa said the amount of talent in the province was very encouraging and showed that rugby league was indeed the number one sport.

He said his boys were up against young talent from Hiri East, Hiri West, Rigo Coast and Rigo Central.

The teams are: 

NCD Under-15: Koivi Kason, Karafa Mafu, Sebastine Ghuna, Billy Kiak, Moses Lao, Henao Idau, Ismael Rodney, Steven Ravu, Vui Misi, Joel Amo, Fabian Omae, Bruce Yambagah, Solomon Yomban, Meri John, Russel Peter, Richard Farisa, Junior Boby, Eric Kanpa, Johannes Yama, Joe Patrick, Aaron Henry (coach), Steven Kevin (trainer), Simon Fofa (manager).

NCD U17: Gary Wari, Titus Kaffe, Michael Yanis, Auda Gaudi, Junior Amos, Johnson Waula, Nelson Peter, Mako Tem­bi, Ben Gabo, Pawa Gabriel, Gaudi Gahuna, Ande Dickson Joseph Posia,Aho Silas (utility), Lawrence Arabagli, Russel Peter, Junior Bobby Paul, Nelson Larry, Kipling Aisi (coach), John Evi (trainer), Gasi Burana (manager).

The Central team was announced during the trials over the weekend.
