Schools must be stricter

IT is shameful and sad to see kids in city elementary and secondary schools not being disciplined.
We may say it is the parents’ responsibilities but children spend most of their time in school with teachers and administrators.
Parents sacrifice their time to send children to school with lunch money and bus fees, yet they are being spent on betelnut, cigarettes and liquor.
As a result, varsity enrolment among NCD school students are low compared to students from rural centres.
It is a shame for our pride and future leaders being involved in fights, smoking, drugs and so on.
Can the school board impose tougher discipline sanctions and heavier penalties?
