Schools need classrooms

Letters

AS parents throughout the country are making a fuss about the Tuition Fee Free (TFF) policy shift to finance 50 per cent of their childrens’ school fees, most are geared up to pay because they feel it is a shared responsibility.
Before sharing half the burden, there are issues in the running and management of the schools that needs radical response by concerned stakeholders before school starts. The TFF policy has stressed the allocation of resources in the daily management of a school.
It has congested classroom learning in terms of teacher to student ratio.
This problem is evident in all schools throughout the country.
Parents and guardians are appealing to the Government to help build more classrooms and infrastructures to cater for the massive increase in enrollments over the years.
Parents and guardians of students in New Erima and St. Peter’s Channel Primary Schools in NCD, are appealing to Governor Powes Pakop and Moresby North East MP John Kaupa to help build a new double classroom for each school.
This is to avoid lessons being conducted under trees like what happened last year.
We believe NCDC will be favourably respond to out appeal.
