School’s performance disappointing

GOROKA Secondary School’s performance has dropped.
Former students, parents and guardians are not happy with that.
The current students, teachers and administration have failed to maintain the school’s good performance.
The school has been one of the top performing schools in the country.
Its outstanding academic performance have made it one of the sought after schools.
Those that attended Goroka Secondary School in the 1990s and late 2000s were considered the cream of the province and the country.
The school has produced brains in the country that contributed immensely in terms of human resource.
Many students who graduated from Goroka Secondary School are now medical doctors, lawyers, engineers and politicians.
A pioneer student of then Goroka Demonstration High School is our former prime minister Peter O’Neill.
Finance Minister Rainbo Paita graduated from Goroka Secondary School.
It is disappointing to see the drop in performance.
The school board needs to address that.
The school should enrol students based on academic merits and get teachers with good records.
Goroka Secondary school still has the potential to do better.

  • It’s the papa graun system. They make selection of grade 9 and 11. Two classroom preserve for the pigs of Goroka market.
