THE School Football Association Port Moresby resumes its competition at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex, Boroko, on Sunday after a two-week break for the term two school holidays.
Association president John Mogi said most age-group division teams were into their final round of the matches and they would be notified once their final placings were verified.
Mogi said the age-group divisions from Under-6, U8, U10, U12 and U14 girls had one more game after this weekend to complete before their regular seasons.
The U12 boys, U14 boys and U16 boys/girls have three more weekends to complete their season.
Mogi thanked the schools and their teachers, as well as volunteers and parents, for making it possible for the students to play in the competition and promoting the sport at an early age.
“We would not have come this far without the support of volunteers, teachers and committed parents,” Mogi said.
“Your encouragement has worked wonders for the children’s participation.”
Mogi  called on parents and volunteers to work together and ensure SFAPOM could affiliate to the PNGFA.
Mogi said there was a lot to gain once the competition affiliated with national body.
