Schools told to follow rules

SCHOOLS and institutions nationwide are reminded to strictly comply with the coronavirus (Covid-19) public health control, National Pandemic Response Controller and Police Commissioner David Manning says.
“Teachers and education institutions should enforce and comply with the Covid-19 pandemic control measures and procedures under the ‘new normal’ or ‘niupela pasin’,” he said.
“It is the responsibility of schools and tertiary institutions to ensure both their staff and students comply with measures.”
Comm Manning said: “They must ensure that both students and staff wear masks at all times.
“Hand sanitisers or water and soap should be made available for the students to wash their hands regularly.
“They (schools and institutions) should invest in temperature guns to get the temperature readings of every student before they enter school premises.”
Comm Manning said the country’s Covid-19 cases was now at 10,915 and rising, “so all citizens should learn to comply with measures under the ‘new normal’ if the country is to contain the virus successfully”.
Comm Manning said the Covid-19 was real and claimed 107 lives to date.
