THE Papua New Guinea Scouts Association website was launched recently and joins others in the movement around the country.
Administrator Noel Pinda said the website was a missing link for the association.
“The Asia-Pacific regional office in Manila has been pushing for us to have that (website) in place,” he said.
“Now we can be recognised in the international arena by way of exposing our programmes so that the world will know what scouting movement in Papua New Guinea is doing in terms of its programmes, training and other community services that we are undertaking.”
Chairman Daniel Lingnoge said it was an achievement for the scout movement in Papua New Guinea after 90 years of existence.
He said it had never been funded but now the Government had recognised it with annual funding of K1 million.
He said the association encourages youths to be better citizens.
