THE Seventh-day Adventist mission is bringing the message of love and goodwill not only through sermons and speeches but also using videos.

Following the success of two previous videos on HIV and AIDS produced about five years ago, the church last week launched another two DVDs also on the subject of HIV/AIDS but includes child abuse.

The video projects were initiated by the church’s health and children’s ministries based in Lae and were co-funded by the Australian aid agency, AusAID.

The recently launched production promotes family life as purposed by God and how even though sickness can strike a family, the ultimate and eternal love of God always brings peace to those who believe in

him.

Child abuse is a social problem that affects many in the country but is generally swept under the carpet because of the stigma and shame attached to it.

The second video titled Aiyo Mi Harim tells the story of a young girl who is sexually abused by her

father.

It is also an aid for counsellors to recognise signs in children who are possible victims and suffer disgrace, humiliation and rejection.

Videos produced by the Seventh-day Adventist church in PNG have also been widely used in the Pacific.

The church has been promoting zero violence against women and children and is pleased that the video projects will assist to boost the message of Christ.

The videos were launched at the SDA Mission headquarters in Lae last Thursday.
