THE second Kumul Petroleum Holdings Charity Golf Challenge, which tees off on June 28 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, was launched in Port Moresby yesterday.
The tournament supports Gerehu-based Life Care PNG, an organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable children and sponsor KPHL through managing director Wapu Sonk has come on board again.
Sonk said the inaugural tournament, following a four-man ambrose format, was won by Heli Solutions last year.
Sonk said K100,000 was raised last year during the event and he hoped to raise more money for a worthy cause.
Team registration is K3,000 with prizes for all finishers.
Sonk invited members of the corporate sector to participate in the event to contact KPHL on 3202253.
“We are looking forward to the event as it is for a worthy cause to support children’s education at Life Care.”
Sonk said KPHL had a community obligation and he believed in social investment in different areas as well as sports and education.
He said the centre was doing a tremendous job by empowering underprivileged children for a sustainable future through education under the “Strongim Pikinini” and mobile education programmes.
Director of the charity organisation Colin Pake thanked KPHL for supporting it and said it endorsed their work giving hope to underprivileged children.
