LAND titles for all sporting facilities for the Pacific Games have been allocated to the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation.

Department of Lands and Physical Planning secretary Romilly Kila-Pat told The National that the department and the foundation identified the Games venues put through the Land Board and allocated the titles to the foundation.

“Land was not formally allocated, it was held under sporting codes like in the Bisini soccer and softball fields, the Port Moresby rugby league, even netball – they were under different sports codes,” he said.

“I’m proud to say that the department has delivered all the venues for the Games.

“Not many people have realised this but the major infrastructure like the Kumul  Flyover, Gerehu roads, a lot of the instruments, are done at the department to start the process of making land available.

“Land title is a very important piece of document that the Sports Foundation needed to progress on all these projects.
